On May 1st, the White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) & CARE's Mothers Day Every Day campaign was a featured cause at the 18th Annual White House Correspondents Garden Brunch in Washington, DC. Brunch host and Mothers Day Every Day Advisor Tammy Haddad welcomed over 600 of DC, NYC and LA's biggest influencers to her home for this highly anticipated event.
"Every minute a mother dies in childbirth; there is no reason for this. Everyone here can help, everyone can do something," Haddad told the crowd. Then she called on new friends Matthew Morrison of "Glee," Joe Mazzello of "The Pacific," Chace Crawford of "Gossip Girl" and pop music sensations The Jonas Brothers to join CURE Epilepsy's Susan Axelrod on stage. Tammy invited the special guests to share important lessons their mothers had taught them with the crowd, and then she asked them to sign an oversized "Happy Mothers Day Every Day" postcard in honor of the White Ribbon Alliance and CARE's joint U.S. advocacy campaign for global maternal health.
Glee's Matthew Morrison sends a Mother's Day noteto his mom in honor of WRA-CARE's Mothers Day Every Day campaign for healthy pregnancy and safe childbirth for all.
Guests --including Morrison, Adrian Grenier of "Entourage," White House Deputy Chief of Staff Mona Sutphen, Senate Democratic Communications Director Staff Director Rodell Mollineau and CNN's Dana Bash and John King–also sent personalized Mother's Day postcards to their moms in honor of WRA-CARE's Mothers Day Every Day campaign.
